THE FORT OF VILLEY-LE-SEC
Built the day after the war of 1870, the fort of Villey-le-Sec is part of the defense system « Séré de Rivières ». This fort is unique because it surrounds the whole village with a fortified wall. This makes Villey-le-Sec the only village fortified in the end of the 19th century in France.
You will discover the north Battery and the Réduit in a natural setting that offers stunning views on the vineyards of Toul and the Woévre.
Two trips are proposed in a small red train over more than 1500 meters.
Inside the fort you will find some impressive masonries and wonderful stone barrack buildings.
